1978, The Beginning.

The company was founded under the name of Syarikat Perniagaan Hayamim. We initially started as a retailer, supplying low cost Audio-Visual-Aids (AVA) to the education market mainly public schools & colleges. There were very few companies dealing with AVA during this time. We were one of the few pioneering companies offering AVA supplies and related peripherals. The AV products we offered then were mainly projection apparatus such as overhead projectors, 16mm projectors and etc. AV peripherals such as transparency films and related accessories. Teaching resources for various subjects in 16mm films, filmstrips and 35 slides from encyclopedia Brittanica, U.S.A. 

The 1980’s:


During the mid-1980s, the Ministry of Education (MOE) started to emphasize and encourage the public schools to use AVA to improve teaching practices. This initiative by MOE started the interest among teachers, educators, PTA officials to get to know and learn more about the use of AVA and how it can be utilized to help students in their daily learning lessons in classrooms.

Our company assisted by holding mini-exhibitions and workshops in the Federal Territory and the state of Selangor. Our initiative was focused to help teachers to learn and create low cost Audio-Visual Aids that can be used to enhance creativity in teaching content. As our experience and reputation grew, our sales expanded to cover Government Agencies, Training Centers and corporate market. Through our pioneering effort, we experienced a soaring growth rate and received due recognition. In 1989, to meet the demand of the growth, we acquired our own three storey office building in Taman Seri Gombak.

The 1990’s:


In 1991, the founding member Anwar Vijaya Bin Abdullah decided to buy over his partners' shares and incorporated the company into a private limited company under a new name of HAYAMIM AVA SDN. BHD. It was during this period that we expanded our product line to include Audio products such as conference microphone system, Public Address system and etc. The 90s brought about a higher demand for AV systems as AV technology awareness increase substantially into other segments of the market. Many organizations realized the benefit derived from using AV systems to enhance presentation, teaching and training activities in the enterprise and government sector. This demand brought about double-digit growth throughout the 90s. To accommodate the increase in sales volume and the fast turnover of the stock, we acquired a new one and a half storey warehouse in 1994 at Taman Industri Bolton, Batu Caves.

2000, The Millennium


With the surge in demand for Audio-Visual system and solutions, it also brought about the emergence of many new entrepreneur companies offering AV System in the market. Our company decided to elevate itself from being a direct-selling retailer to a distribution company to cater to these many emerging AV System companies. This strategy was to avoid making them into a competitor and rather support and accommodate their needs to cater to the B2C market segment.

In Dec 2000, the company acquired a brand-new facility 20,000 sq. ft. in size at Sri Batu Caves Industrial Park. The building housed all the operations under one roof; the sales and management office, warehouse, showroom, service centre and training facility. With the integrated services, we were able to provide a comprehensive and efficient service to meet customer satisfaction.

We secured the distributorship for a number of world-renowned brands of AV equipment during this period. We also had the distinction of being the Sole Distributor for some of these products. Among the internationally well-known brands we distribute are Newline, Bosch, Lumens, Chiayo, others. We capitalize on our strong branding and reputation to introduce a number of in-house brands for AV systems over the years. 

The continuous success of our business was driven by our dedicated and experienced human resources, the excellent products we represent that were updated based on technological advances and reasonable prices offered. A good after-sales-service support helped to build up customer loyalty. Needless to say, we had a good sales and marketing plan to top it all.
